Seminar Presentations

I will get in contact with the agent and get the name for you.

Have you ever thought of getting a high end producer to partner up with for seminars. Maybe even have him throw your first presentation for you, case design, and go through the appointment process with you to the close?

Thanks, but I was looking for the company name who set one on one dinner appts. I am just curious.

I used RME extensively a couple years ago. Top notch, but expensive.

You are trying to sell us something, aren't you. ;)

I really have nothing to sale, just ideas and connections.

I have been on both sides of the field as an insurance/securities agent for 9 years and a marketing/product/case design consultant for 5 years. I have learn a wealth of information from numerous heavy hitting agents in the 25 million to 60 million range. Most of them have shared a bunch of their knowledge with me so I try to share it with other agents. It is tough out there sometimes and I know everyone is looking to get in front of more clients. The reason I mentioned the above is that I know several agents that offer mentorship programs to help other fellow agents out that are looking to boost their seminar system.

Response Mail Express was the vendor that the agent used for this program.

As Matt confirm above the program was o.k.

Of the producers doing $30M+ are they doing all the production themselves, or do they do it with sub-producers?

Matt

There are a-lot of producers that individually do $25mm to $30mm. They all tell me that it is a-lot of work. They say that writing the premium is the easy part, but the service aspects, following up of transfers, and delivery of policies is what make that type of volume difficult. Most of the agents that I have meet above that tier usually have sub-agents. I know of one agent who does $40mm in personal but he has a big staff and his total cost to run his operation is huge $1.5mm to $2mm. He to has sub-agents and they do and additional $10mm to $15mm.

It seems to me the agents who write in that $10mm to $12mm have the sweet spot. At least from the attitudes and lifestyle they have expressed compared to the bigger premium agents.

This year I will write alittle over $12M in FIA's and about $4M in managed money. My goal next year is to write $18M in FIA's with a stretch goal of $24M plus about $8M in MM. I can figure out how to get to 24, but with my averages I do not see how my schedule would allow much more production. I have often wondered how reps write $60M+.

Matt, you seem to be extremely successful with what you're doing with these stories. Can you please share some tips for us just getting started but aspire to be successful with your level of production......it seems that you hit the seminar circuit hard and can actually close many of these appointments without getting burned out.

Post or PM how you do it!

Mainly hard work!! There is no magic pill!! I have always bought into the idea of "work harder than few are willing to live like few are able." Plus I truly buy into the idea of doing what is in the best interest of the client. Almost everyone will say they do this, but I actually live it. This past year I could writtin more business, but I would only write what is suitable. This approach will allow me to write much more business in the future!
